NZSBA conditions: 1 Horses age is of 1 August. 2 All Standardbred's must carry an official Harness Racing brand or an official Harness Racing sequenced microchip that is registered with Harness Racing NZ. 3 RAS Height Certificates must be carried where classes are defined by height. 4 NZSBA Showing Passport must be carried at all times. A strict policy of "no passport, no entry" will be in place at each show. 5 Novice Classification: a) A Novice exhibit or rider is one that has yet to win six (6) classes in any division within the competitions provided at any A & P Show/Event. Note: To clarify further, at time of first day of the Show/Event competition If you have 0, 1 or 2 wins – you can enter the 0-2 wins class, if you have 0, 1, 2 or 3 wins – you can enter the 0-3 wins class, if you have 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 wins – you can enter the 0-5 wins class. Once you have achieved 6 wins in Conformation (and this includes Ladies & Gentleman's classes) and/or Paced & Mannered classes, you can no longer enter in Novice classes in that category. 6 All wins, whether they be Novice or Open at all affiliated RAS Shows/Events including the NZ Horse of the Year (HOY) Show must be recorded on the NZSBA Showing Passport until six (6) wins are achieved in both conformation and paced and/or mannered sections. 7 Once an exhibit has achieved six (6) wins in the Standardbred Section, the exhibit is not eligible to return to Novice status. 8 Novice horses must be shown in a snaffle bridle. 9 Only Open conformation, Open Champion & Reserve are HOY Qualifying classes 10 Supreme has been removed from both schedules - from a judging point of view a Ridden horse cannot be judged against an Inhand horse unless the Ridden horse is stripped, therefore you are judging two Inhand horses - making the Supreme null in void. In no other section, do RAS or Breed have an Inhand and Ridden horse compete against each other for a Supreme. 11 Standardbred schedules are to be sent to NZSBA (julie@thebreeders.co.nz) for approval, PRIOR to schedules going live online. NZSBA is an affiliated breed society to RAS, therefore RAS do NOT approve the Standardbred schedule, NZSBA as the governing body of the breed does. 12 When show entries close, Show Secretary's are required to send Standardbred entries to julie@thebreeders.co.nz for Passport Registration confirmation. 13 NZSBA offers shows holding a Standardbred section, sponsorship of $100 + GST and $200 + GST for Royal Shows. 14 Judges: When choosing a Judge for this section - NZSBA require an RAS listed Judge is used for all RAS shows and wish these horses to be judged the same as any other RAS section...on Conformation - not breed specific. 15 NZSBA is the affiliated organisation to RAS for Standardbred’s – all correspondence RAS related is to be dealt with by New Zealand Standardbred Breeders Assn (NZSBA) at julie@thebreeders.co.nz - not North Island Standardbred Assn (NISA) or New Zealand Standardbred Riding Assn (NZSRA). |
